What it is
Sits inside the toe box and spreads the load when your foot flexes, so the upper bends across a wider area instead of folding along one hard line.
Thin enough that you stop noticing it after a wear or two, and the cheapest insurance there is on a pair you actually care about. It is also the only option we sell for suede, nubuck and knit, where heat is not safe.
